Budapest Brains 2011: The Brain Prize - Az Agy-díj

Az első Agy díjjal 2011-ben kitüntetett három, magyar származású, évtizedek óta együttműködő tudós közül mindössze egyikük folytatja itthon kutatásait, Freund Tamás, a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Kísérleti Orvostudományi Kutatóintézetének igazgatója. Az intézet 1952 óta működik Budapesten, amely ma az egyetlen hely, ahol kizárólag orvostudományi kutatásokat folytatnak Magyarországon, és amely az idegtudomány területén Közép-Európa vezető kutatóintézetévé emelkedett. (Európai Bizottság Centre of Excellence címe)
A nemzetközi agykutatás hetének programjaira 2014-ben márc. 10 - 16. között kerül majd sor.

The 3 Hungarian scientists awarded with the first Brain-Prize in 2011 are working together since decades, however only one of them continues to research in Hungary, Budapest: Freund Tamás, director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. This institute, founded in 1952 is currently the only research institute in Hungary dedicated exclusively to medical research and is regarded as the leading research institute in the field of neuroscience in Central Europe. Pesti biciklizés - Cycling in Budapest

A BuBi projekt csak jövőre indul, a biciklis szezon kezdetét azonban semmi nem hátráltathatja! Bár állítólag New Yorkban május a biciklis hónap, Pesten ma ismét sor került a Critical Mass bringás felvonulásra (egy ideig az utolsóra), aki él és mozogni tud, áprilisban már biciklivel közlekedik!

The BuBi project will only start next year in Budapest, but nothing can delay the beginning of the cycling season! Though apparently in New York May is bike month, in Pest the Critical Mass ride took place again today (the final one for the present), and all those alive are riding around on bycicle in April!

Everyone in this country knows these artists and can sing this song - not sure about the dance though!
Csík band plays a song from Quimby in the first video recorded at Sziget festival in 2008, the second video shows last year's winner of the talent show Fölszállott a páva in the folk dance category, Berecz István. I have deliberately chosen videos of live performances which show the interactions between artists and audience.
