Jégbüfé - "Buffet a glace"

A szocialista kasszírnők utolsó lelőhelye a Felszabon. Vannak még sütemények is, de senki nem emiatt jár ide - vagy ha igen, nagyot koppan (egy másik beszámoló). Cserébe van nyüzsgés kint és bent, gofri és fagylaltárusítás az ablakokon keresztül -melyek a környező gimnáziumok érettségi tablóinak is helyet adnak-, bent rengeteg egészalakos tükör, jövőre 60 éves fennállás. Nincs viszont szünnap és szék. Bérleti szerződésük idén jár le, jövőjük az egész épületével együtt bizonytalan. The last place to find real till girls (till women) in Ferenciek tere (formerly Felszabadulás tér). Pastry is also sold, but not the real deal. Instead you can watch the bustle indoors and through huge picture windows outside on the street, with the famous gofri (waffle) guy selling his gofri through the window next to the ice-cream counter. Lots of mirrors inside, but don't look for chairs. Though open every day throughout the year, its lease contract expires in 2011 and future is uncertain for the institution open in the last 59 years. Photos taken by Bruno Bourel in the 90s in and out of Jégbüfé here (from the book: Bruno Bourel - Parti Nagy Lajos: Budapest - Fényrajzok).
